Smart Plug हा साध्या Socket आणि Applianceच्या मध्ये लावला जाणारा छोटा Device आहे. तो फक्त Gadget ON/OFF करत नाही, तर काही Smart Plugमध्ये Electricity Consumption Monitoringची सुविधाही असते.

Smart Plug Applianceमधून जाणाऱ्या Electrical Powerचा वापर मोजतो. Appमध्ये काही मॉडेल्स Power (W), Energy (kWh) आणि वापराचा History दाखवतात.

वीज वापर साधारणपणे kWh म्हणजेच Unitमध्ये मोजला जातो. उदाहरणार्थ, एखादं Appliance किती Watt वापरतं आणि ते किती तास चालतं, यावर त्याचा Electricity Consumption ठरतो.जास्त Watt + जास्त वापराचा वेळ = जास्त वीज वापर

Smart Plug वेगवेगळ्या Appliancesवर वापरून तुलना करता येते. उदा.TV • Computer • Air Cooler • Microwave • Heater • Washing Machine यामुळे कोणत्या Deviceचा वापर जास्त Electricity Consumption करत आहे, याचा अंदाज मिळू शकतो.

Smart Plugच्या Appनुसार तुम्हाला वेगवेगळी माहिती दिसू शकते. Current Power Usage Daily/Monthly Consumption Usage History Estimated Electricity Cost मात्र Costचा अंदाज तुमच्या वीज दरानुसार बदलू शकतो.

एखादं Appliance गरजेपेक्षा जास्त वेळ चालत असेल तर त्याचा वापर कमी करता येतो. काही Smart Plugमध्ये Schedule किंवा Timerची सुविधाही असते. म्हणजे ठराविक वेळेनंतर Device आपोआप OFF करता येऊ शकतं.

High-power Appliances जसे Geyser, Room Heater, मोठे AC किंवा इतर जास्त Load असलेले Devices Smart Plugला जोडण्यापूर्वी त्याची Rated Current/Power Capacity तपासणं महत्त्वाचं आहे. Smart Plugच्या क्षमतेपेक्षा जास्त Load जोडू नये.

Smart Plug स्वतः वीज वाचवत नाही. तो कोणतं Appliance किती Electricity वापरतं हे समजण्यास आणि काही Devicesचा वापर Schedule/Control करण्यास मदत करतो. म्हणून वीज कुठे खर्च होते हे आधी शोधा, मग वापर कमी करा!
